Members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by Dr Basu Pati
and Prabhas Panigrahi on Tuesday staged a demonstration before the CDMO's
office here protesting against poor healthcare facilities sin Balangir
district.
Dr Pati alleged how doctors are neglecting their duties
and remaining busy in their private clinics rather than treating patients at
Government hospitals.
CDMO Dr Vrikant Kindo, who listened to the allegations and
demands, assured the BJP activists to take necessary steps to streamline the
healthcare service in the hospitals in the district.
The BJP activists also criticised the UPA Government at
the Centre for the hike in the price of fertilisers and demanded a minimum
support price (MSP) for paddy at Rs 2,000 per quintal.
“We also demand speedy execution of the Lower Suktel
Irrigation Project in the district,” said BJP district president Prabhas
Panigrahi.
