Suspected Maoists torched a kendu leaf godown at Bagdore, 25 km
from the Belpada police station, in the Bender reserve forest area in Belpada
block on Tuesday night.
But the police team could not find
any Maoist poster there, said Balangir SP R Praksh to this correspondent
The series of burning of kendu leaf
godowns in the district and elsewhere has raised the curiousness of the people
as to why the Maoists are carrying out such activities. The Maoists normally
use to leave behind posters claiming the responsibility of their acts. But in
such cases, no such poster is found.
Then, the question arises as to who
are responsible for these incidents — corrupt forest officials to cover up
their practices or there is any bigger game-plan involved.
