Expedite CBI probe into chit fund scam: BJP
Balangir:
BJP members led by Sibaji Mohanty, Prabhas Panigrahi, Pankjini Panda, Basu Pati
and Ajayabali staged a demonstration in front of the District Collectorate here
on Monday demanding acceleration in CBI inquiry into the multi-crore chit fund
scam in the State. They also submitted a memorandum to the CBI Director through
the district administration urging him to take necessary steps to expedite the
process of investigation and arrest all culprits involved in the scam.

RTI activist Hemanta Panda urged President Pranab Mukherjee for
deletion of “His Highness Maharaja” title of Rajendra Narayan Singh Deo from
the Lok Sabha records, which he said is continuation of feudal legacy.
Panda,
who submitted his petition to Mukherjee on November 29 in Bhubaneswar, pointed
out that while perusing the first MPs’ list, he found that the name of
Balangir-Kalahandi Lok Sabha MP Singh Deo’s name was prefixed with a royal
title.
While
Rajendra Narayan Singh Deo is the full name of the MP, the title “His Highness
Maharaja” has an imperial overtone. But this imperial title lowers the dignity
ofthe President and the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Panda pointed out.
