Members of the Krishi Vishwavidyalaya
Kriyanusthan Committee led by Pramod Mishra staged a dharna in front of the
Gandhi statue here on Wednesday to press for their demand of setting up of the
proposed Agriculture University in Balangir. “Residents of Balangir have been
demanding for setting up of the proposed Agriculture University in the town for
the last four months. But the Government is being reluctant to our demand, for
which we have taken the path of agitation,” said a member of the committee. The
committee members threatened that people would boycott Government programmes
from April 1 onwards and would further intensify agitation if the Government
does not fulfil the demand, said Mishra.
