BJD Rajya Sabha member AU Singh Deo on Sunday said he is in no way involved in the chit fund scam and the allegation made against him by Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra is baseless.
Notably, Mishra had on Saturday told a Press conference here that like other places of the State, people of Balangir district have also been cheated by chit fund companies. He showed photographs of a meeting held at Titilagarh in the year 2010 by the chit fund company ‘VISTA’ in which Singh Deo and Minister Puspendra Singhdeo were sharing the dais.
“People of Balangir district have been cheated. The Economic Offences Wing of Odisha has registered three cases against VISTA in this connection. A thorough probe should be conducted so that involvement of former Ministers is established,” Mishra said.
However, RS Member Singh Deo denied Mishra’s charges. “In our public life, we attend many public functions. If anybody gets photographs with us does not mean that we have involvement in their activities. Narsingha Mishra is just politicising the issue,” said Singh Deo.
