Apparently worried over the move taken by the residents of Balangir town, local MLA and former Minister AU Singh Deo highlighted the steps taken by him in solving the water crisis of the district through a Press release.
In the release the local MLA said that at his initiative, a proposal involving a cost of Rs 55 crore has been approved to bring water to the town from river Tel near Tarbha in Subarnapur district. For this, tender has already been invited.
Moreover, to provide water to people, a total of 21 tankers have been pressed into service, the Press release added.
Besides these steps, tenders have been invited for construction of three overhead tanks at Rameshwar Nagar, Tulsi Nagar and Malpada to streamline water supply in the places with water scarcity, the Press release stated further.
