Balangir: One Bansidhar Sahu (60) of Nuniapali in Agalpur block sustained severe injuries when an elephant attacked him on Monday. The victim, who had gone to collect Mahul flowers just outside the village, was admitted to the district hospital here.

Wooden planks seized at Balangir

Balangir: Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of police and forest officials intercepted a car and seized wooden planks worth Rs 5 lakh here on Monday. “We seized the wooden planks from a car on its way to Balangir from Gagaghurli Belpada on the outskirts of the town,” said Forester DC Mishra.
