B'ngir child migrant found dead in K'takaFriday, 25 July 2014 | PNS | BALANGIR | in Bhubaneswar

Even as the Odisha Government has been claiming providing of jobs to poor people at their doorsteps and making special provisions for children's development, reports of labourers along with their children migrating to brick kilns of other States and suffering terrible plights and even dying there have become a regular feature.
According to the latest reports, Bhakta Das and Madhuri of Choulbanji village in Maharapadar GP of Khaprakhol block of Balangir district had gone along with their eight-year-old son Kishore to work in brick kilns at Tapnali, Attibela and Bengaluru in Karnataka in 2013.
On July 18 this year, Kishore suddenly went missing. Finally on Thursday, his body was found in a forest nearby the brick kilns.
"We suspect foul play and we demand a proper investigation into the incident and punishment to the culprits involved in this murder," said Kishore's uncle Rohit Das to this correspondent over phone.
