Annapurna Swain of the Congress and Mamatarani Jena of the BJD in Ward-8 got an
equal number of votes of 665 each. As per the rule, a draw was conducted and
Mamatarani Jena came out as the lucky winner.
In the Titilagarh Municipality, the BJD bagged
as many as 14 out of the 15 wards and the Congress won the remaining one.
"We are happy that people of Balangir have reposed their faith in the BJD
