The Naveen Patnaik Government has performed poorly in various spheres. The State now ranks number one in respects of large-scale vacancy of doctors and teachers and increase in crimes as revealed in the White Paper published by the Government itself.
This was stated by BJP State president KV Singh Deo while addressing a public meeting here on Tuesday.
"When NDA was in power, Atal Behari Vajpayee had told us to treat Naveen Patnaik as elder brother as he was son of late Biju Patnaik, but he backstabbed us. He is an expert in backstabbing," Singh Deo said. Once voted to power, the BJP would complete the Lower Suktel Irrigation Project and compensation would be paid to the people displaced for the Lower Indra Irrigation and other projects, besides working for other developmental works in Balangir district, he said.
Singh Deo was given a warm welcome by BJP activists on his first visit here from Patnagarh after being recently appointed as the Stateparty chief.
A motorcycle procession was taken out on the occasion. Among others, Leader of BJP Legislature Party Jaya Narayan Mishra, other senior party leaders like Biswabhushan Harichandan, Bimbadhar Kaunar, Ajay Das and Prabhas Panigrahi spoke at the meeting.
Speaking to mediapersons, Singh Deo said the BJP would not have alliance with any other political party in the State and the party would fight elections alone as its poll prospects are quite bright.
