Mahila Cong protests atrocities on women
Balangir: Putting on black clothes in their mouths as a mark of
protest against the rising incidents of atrocities on women during the Naveen
Patnaik regime, members of the Zilla Mahila Congress led by its president
Renuka Patra and District Congress President Bhagaban Bagarti staged a dharna
before district Collectorate here on Thursday.
Renuka Patra said
atrocities on women are on the increase as the State Government has failed to
provide protection to women. “We are holding our silent protest on the birthday
of late Kasturba Gandhi,” she added.
