TO CM ON SUKTEL DAM PROJECT
The lower Suktel Mahila Mahasangha has
demanded implementation of the new Land Acquisition Act-2013 and immediate
payment of compensation to people affected by the lower Suktel dam project.
In a petition to Chief Minister
Naveen Patnaik, the body demanded payment of compensation as per the New Land
Acquisition Act-2013, construction work of the dam only after full payment of
compensation to all people, declaration of all partially-affected villages as
fully submerged village, issuance of identity card and priority to displaced
people in Government and private sector jobs The displaced persons should be
given ‘irrigated land’ as compensation to them, said a member of the
body. The body held a meeting at Pardhiapali village on Sunday, where
the villagers resolved to carry on their agitation demanding adequate
compensation and justice to them.
