block who suffered crop damage due to elephant , led by
president of Bolangir LokSabha Constituency
Sri AkashMishra gheroed the Divisional forest
office Bolangir today(3rd March2014) afternoon demanding immediate payment of compensation.
The
villagers have submitted their petition to authorities’ several times earlier
demanding compensation due to damage by elephant menace. However as the
authorities did not respond, along with villagers we have gheroed the DFO
office says Aakash Mishra to Pioneer. So far I have the list of 69people whose
crop was damaged due to elephant has not received compensation since 2012 and
2013, Mishra said further.
Villagers
also allege cutting of trees from forest in Loisingha due to apathy of forest
official .After matter was informed to District Collector M.Muthukumar, he directed the DFO to sort out
the matter and DFO Abhiram Nayak assured the villagers to made payments within 3days
.
