4 DIE IN ILLEGAL STONE BLASTING IN B’NGIR

Four persons were killed at Halanbhata village in Tureikela block in Balangir district when they were trying to blast a mound for stone illegally on Wednesday afternoon.

According to reports, the deceased were trying to blast a huge-size stone in the field of one Pramod Kanda using illegally-procured explosives. Apparently, the explosives burst earlier than expected, resulting in death of three persons on the spot. Another person succumbed to his injuries in a hospital at Kantabanji.

The Tureikela police registered a case under Section 3 of the Explosive Substance Act and Sections 296 and 304(A) of IPC, informed Inspector-in-Charge of Tureikela police station AK Bastia to this correspondent over phone.
