150 QUINTALS PDS WHEAT SEIZED IN BALANGIR

In a
surprise check, a team of the Balangir police led by SP Ravi Prakash on Sunday
stopped a truck carrying 150 quintals (300 bags) of PDS wheat near Saintala
while it was passing through the Balangir-Saintala road.
“On verification, we found the papers
(relating to the dispatch of wheat) were not genuine and the driver was not
revealing his real identify. Both the driver and helper have been arrested and
a case has been registered in this connection,” said Prakash .
These wheat was meant for people of three
panchayats of Deogaon block, but it was being transported to Saintala for
sale in black market.“This reveals a clear nexus between the district administration
and black-marketer,” alleged Samajwadi Party district president Arun Mishra at
a Press conference on Monday. He demanded a through inquiry into the
incident.
