The
announcement of Telangana State by the UPA Government at the Centre has further
stirred up the ongoing agitation here for a separate State of Kosal with
members of the Kosal Kranti Dal (KKD) deciding to intensify their agitation for
an indefinite period.
“As
part of intensification of the agitation further, we are going to observe
one-hour Rasata Roko of the National Highways (NH) in the entire ‘Kosalanchal’
tomorrow (August 3). Moreover, in the next phase of our agitation, the Central
Government institutions like banks and railways would be targeted,” said KKD
leader Pramod Mishra at a Press conference here on Friday. “It is now high time for all people of ‘Kosalanchal’ to come out
and support the agitation for a separate Kosal State, otherwise they will miss
the bus,” said Mishra.
“We
would welcome those MLAs and MPs supporting our cause for a separate Kosal
State. We have planned to stage demonstrations before the constituency
residences of MPs,” he said further. Mishra welcomed the reported
statement of Balangir BJD MP Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo in favour of setting up
of a second State reorganisation commission, saying that such a commission
would be another platform where “we can place our demand for a separate Kosal
State more effectively once it is set up”.
