NUANKHAI TO BE ORGANISED ON SEPTEMBER 10; LAGNA FIXED

The Brahma Mandap Pandita Mahasabha has decided to observe Nuankhai, a mass agrarian festival mostly of the western Odisha on September 10.
In a meeting held here on Thursday, the Mahasabha comprising the senior Pandits and priests decided to offer the first Prasad (Nabanna) prepared from new crop between 10. 18 am and 10. 32 am to Maa Samaleswari, the presiding deity of the region. “After the first Prasad is offered to Maa Samaleswari, the households will offer it in their respective homes to the Gruhadevatas,” informed Brahma Mandap Pandita Mahasabha president Biranchi Narayan Pati.
Since Nuankahi is a mass festival, the people here are eagerly waiting for the day, while a host of cultural organisations are gearing up for a grand celebration, informed Pandit Amar Mishra of the Mahasabha.
