CONGRESS DEMANDS NAVEEN GOVT DISMISSAL

Members
of the district Congress led by its president Bhagaban Bagarti and Youth
Congress Balangir Lok Sabha Constituency unit president Akash Mishra on
Wednesday staged a “silent” dharna before the Collectorate protesting against
the rising crimes in the State.
They demanded `20 lakh as
compensation to the family of Sujata Bairagi in Kendrapada district, who
recently died after being raped and set on fire and subsequent medical
negligence.
The Congress leaders said
that the number of rape incidents in the State has risen from 1,023 in 2009 to
1,458 in 2013 and the general law and order has been deteriorating day by day.
It is high time the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD Government was dismissed by the
Governor, they said. Later, they submitted a memorandum in this regard to the
Governor through the district administration.
