Rejecting the demand and campaign of the
ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) for Special Category State status to Odisha and
demanding a separate State of Kosal under Articles 2 and 3 of the Constitution
of India, the Kosal Kranti Dal (KKD) on Sunday launched its second phase
signature campaign from here.
Senior artist Ghasiram Mishra formally
inaugurated the campaign by giving his signature. Among others,
researcher Panchanan Pattnaik spoke about the rich resources of “Kosal State”
and how the region was merged with Odisha.
“We will collect one crore signatures rejecting the
demand of Special Category State status to Odisha and demanding formation of a
separate Kosal State. So far, we have collected 42,000 signatures in the first
phase,” said Pramod Mishra of the Kosal Kranti Dal.
