Police have expedited manhunt with
all possible efforts to nab culprits involved in the brutal rape and murder of
a minor girl in Sargipali village under Balangir district’s Khaprakhol block on
May 22, informed Balangir SP Dr Deepak Kumar.
“We have analysed several of call
details of suspected people, and even blood samples of few suspected persons
have been collected and sent for DNA test to the State Forensic Laboratory,” Dr
Kumar told The Pioneer.
According to sources, the post-mortem
report points out that the minor girl died due to strangulation. Police believe
that the crime was committed at some other place, not at the place where the
body was found. “We are trying our level best to nab the culprits. Sketches of
suspected people have also been made and circulated, said Kumara. A few days
ago, DGP Sanjeev Marik replying to a media query had said the police were
taking the issue seriously and pursuing it from a scientific angle. But he
didn’t reveal anything about the investigation.
