1After a
brief lull, SOG jawans and Maoists exchanged fire for about 10 minutes at
Beherakhai village under the Saintla police station in Balangir district on
Thursday morning.
According to information,
some Red rebels suddenly opened fire at the Special Operation Group (SOG)
jawans while the latter were on a patrolling operation at around 8.30 am near
the village under the Tikhari Reserve Forest area. The jawans retaliated soon.
Exchange of fire continued before the Maoists fled from the spot.
Police seized detonators,

In another incident, BSF
personnel on Friday busted a Maoist camp in a jungle of Malkangiri district and
recovered a huge cache of explosives from the ultras’ hideout.
The BSF personnel while
conducting a search operation in Sishaguda forest under Khairput block found
the hideout and recovered 200 explosives, 15 kg gelatin, 100 detonators and
