The 52
foundation day of Balangir District Journalists’ Association was observed here
on Friday.
IG Northern Range
(Sambalpur) Sanjay Kumar was the chief guest, while district Collector D
Prashant Reddy and SP R Prakash were guests of honour. The speakers on the
occasion stressed on the vital role of media in building nation and emphasised
on proper and balanced reporting to provide the real facts to the
administrators and society which could help in tackling the issues.
Among others, senior
journalist Shankar Prasad Mishra, Satyanarayn Behera, Balangir District
Journalist Association president Hari Narayn Pujhari (Nari) and secretary Srisa
Kant Satpathy spoke on the occasion. The Sambad general manager Arabind Das,
Rajamohan Sahu , Sandeep Kaunar, Bansidhar Seth and Sanjay Behera were
honored for their contribution to journalism.
