In a
significant development in the history of community rights granted under the
Forest Right Act, 2006 in Balangir district, a joint verification process was
initiated at Ghatul Dungri and Dumerjore villages in Deogaon block by officials
from the Revenue, Tribal Development and Forest Departments in the presence of
members of community and District forestry Forum Balangir on Friday.
Officials of the three
departments looked into the demands of the community and discussed the claims
made by members of the Kandul Budha Khadya Surakshya Mahasangh, Bandhpada.
