BJD members burn PM, Sonia effigies
Balangir: Protesting the denial of
Special Category State status to Odisha by the Centre, BJD members led by
Harekrushna Sarangi and Chairperson of Balangir Municipality Damayanti Bag on
Friday staged a dharna before the Collectorate here and burnt effigies of Prime
Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. They pointed out that
though the Khurda-Balangir railway line is a project of Rs 1,200 crore, only Rs
60 crore has been allocated for it in this year’s railway Budge
