LAND, SEEDS WORSHIPPED ON AKSHAYA TRITIYA IN B’NGIR

The Akshya Tritiya Divas was observed here with traditional worship of land and seed and ploughing of land in Larkipali farm. It was organised by the Agriculture department.
Balangir Zilla Parishad chairman Bijaya Pradhani and ADM Sadhab Minz formally sowed seeds and ploughed the land at Larki Pali in Balangir.
Later, in a meeting, the Deputy Director Agriculture (DDA) spoke in details about the new agriculture policy and stressed on line sowing transplantation and adoption of System Rice Intensification (SRI) method of cultivation. Chief Guest Balangir Zilla Parishad president Bijaya Pradhani, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Sadhab Minz and other guests spoke on the importance of Akshya Tritiya Divas and the various schemes run by the Government for the benefits of the farmers. As many as 65 farmers were honoured for their outstanding achievement in agriculture and allied sectors. A seed treatment campaign was also flagged off.
