Normal life in Patnagarh sub-division was affected on Saturday due
to a 12-hour bandh call given by the BJP at Patnagarh, Belpada and Khparakhol
protesting against the deteriorating law and order in the area.
Kantabanji town also observed a bandh
protesting against the worsening law and order with the bandh call being given
by the Merchants’ Association, Kantabanji and supported by other organisations.
Shops and business establishments
remained closed and buses were off roads. BJP workers, led by Patnagarh MLA KV
Singh Deo, staged a dharna before the Patnagarh police station demanding arrest
of the culprits involved in various cases.
“Effective patrolling will be done to
check occurrences of crime and necessary steps will be taken to nab the
culprits soon,” said Balangir SP R Praksh, when contacted.
