Protesting the neglect of Odisah by former Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers Srikant Jena, BJD members led by Deogaon block president Sushil Chand and PB Mathews and Basudev Dash among others burnt the effigies of Mukherjee and Jena before the collectriate here on Tuesday evening.
“We burnt the effigies of the former Finance Minister and UPA Presidential candidate Mukherjee and Minister Jena protesting their neglect to Odisha. During his tenure as the Finance Minister, Mukherjee gave cores of rupees to States like West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh while Odisha was neglected. Minister Jena allegedly maintained silence over it,” said Chand.
