Balangir ZP chief elected unopposed
Balangir: Ending all speculations, Bijay Pradhani of the BJD was elected unopposed as the new president of the Balangir Zilla Parishad on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media, Pradhani said he would take steps for development of the district with special attention to irrigation, drinking water and other problems. He thanked local MLA AU Singh Deo and Balangir MP Kalikesh Singh Deo for their “blessings” to him.
In the 34-member Zilla Parishad, the BJD has got 26 seats, the Congress three and the BJP five.
“I am happy that Bijay Pradhani has been elected unopposed as the ZP president and I hope he will strive to ensure development of Balangir,” said Kalikesh Singh Deo
