I am posting a news ,published in the Pioneer Bhubneshwar edition dated 16th March for your perusal
With a view to improve the quality of education and employable skills of youth, a Knowledge Resource Centre will be established at Balangir at a cost of Rs 24.38 crore.
The project will be first of its kind in the State, for which Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has given green signal. The proposals include setting up of a K-12 school from Class I to XII on the CBSE pattern to provide high-quality education to local students and establishment of a Vocational Training Institute to impart high-quality skill development training to youth with assured employability.
The KRC would reach out to other schools of the district to train teachers and raise standards of teaching in such schools and interact with local communities to improve their financial, education, health, literacy and livelihood standards.
The KRC School would have a student-strength of 1,520 and impart skill training to 4,000 youth per annum with assured employment, which is expected to attract tribal youth in a big way.
The State Planning & Coordination Department, while recommending the proposal to the Chief Minister for his approval, had suggested that the Government agree to it keeping in view the future of the students and youth of the backward district.
A comparative analysis of the Gyanodaya Scheme of Rajasthan and KRC was made, and it was found out that KRC is a much better proposal and financially sustainable. The Rajasthan Government is running the Gyanodaya Scheme with State funding.
