ANTI-POLYTHENE DRIVE HELD IN B’NGIR VILLAGE

A campaign titled ‘Say no to polythene’ was organised at Bangabahl village, 40 km from here, on Tuesday.
Villagers were sensitized about how polythene creates pollution and diseases in both human beings and animals.
Schoolteachers, students, PRI representatives, scribes and members from civil society participated in the campaign organised by the Loisingha forest range office.
Among others, UN Mahakur, scribe Birajanand Padhi, DK Dhal, Ananda Pradhan, Shyama Sahoo and honorary wildlife warden Sudhir Mishra spoke on the disastrous consequences of polythene on soil and ecology.
They urged villagers to use less polythene in daily life and dispose them properly.Earlier, schoolchildren marched through the village giving slogans against use of polythene.
