Members
of the Balangir SC/ST District Action Committee led by Rajendra Suna and
Himanshu Bhivar, on Tuesday took out a procession here protesting against the
action Rajendra College Principal Dr Rajlakshmi Mishra for suspending sweeper
Debrakj Barik and allegedly making casteist remark against him.
The
Principal said, “I believe this is the handiwork of some of the employees. As I
have started taking steps to improve the overall situation in Rajendra College,
some lecturers and other employees who were involved in the financial
irregularities are instigating him (Barik) to do so. The sweeper was suspended for
his misconduct. He was very irregular.” She also denied the allegation of
making any casteist remark or misbehaviour as she has been accused of.
