The Gandhamardan Suraksha Action Committee has threatened to go on an indefinite agitation before the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Harishankar demanding filling up of the vacant posts at the hospital and regular visits by the doctors.
Although the Government appointed four doctors in the PHC for better health care to the rural people, yet most of the doctors are not coming to the PHC regularly. They are coming for one hour in a day at their own convenience.
In a letter to Health Minister Dr Damodar Rout, members of the Gandhmardarn Suraksha Action Committee demanded regular opening of the hospital, regular visit by the doctors and appointment of 11staff members, including nurse and lab technician, etc by November 15, failing which they have threatened to continue an indefinite stir before the PHC.
