Day to Combat Desertification held at Balangir
Balangir: The World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought was observed in Balangir on Saturday. Divisional Forest Officer Rashmi Ranjan Naik, ACF NK Jaysingh, Honourary Wildlife Warden Sudhir Kumar Mishra, Ranger BC Roul, advocate Gopal Hota and others spoke on the issue of desertification and the need to tackle drought. They urged the participants to check soil erosion by planting trees and conserving water to combat desertification and drought. The meeting was attended by members of Van Suraksha Samiti (VSS) and foresters and others.
