DAY 2: DMS DISCUSS FIVE PRIORITY SERVICES
The District Collectors held detailed discussion on five priority sectors like municipal services, skill development, youth services, construction workers’ welfare and health services on the second day of the Collectors’ workshop here.
The Collectors of 30 districts formed five different groups and discussed one issue each. The groups suggested ways and means for bridging the gaps and making the service delivery hassle-free for the citizens.
The groups presented suggestions to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the afternoon session. Chief Secretary AP Padhi, Development Commissioner R Balkrishnan, Additional Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of various departments were present.
On construction workers’ welfare, Collectors suggested for a universal registration across all blocks and districts so that they can access to services from anywhere in the State. Construction workers get 11 different kinds of packages and assistances.
Similarly, Collectors suggested for engagement of multipurpose lab technicians, creation of online portal for monitoring of clinical establishments, adoption of machined cleaning in hospitals and use of technology for raising alert and real time response system in hospitals.
Chief Secretary Padhi said suggestions given Collectors were very useful. The suggestions are also being collected from cross sections of the population through web portal. As of now, around 160 suggestions on various sectors have been received from the people through the portal.
