EVICTION BEGINS ON PLOTS GRABBED BY TIMAN’S AIDE

About three weeks after they demolished the
illegally constructed building of dreaded criminal Srikant Kumbar alias Timan
at Larkipali, the Balanigir Municipality authorities on Tuesday started a
demolition drive on three plots in the Shantipada area occupied by Khirodra
Mishra, another key accused in the Government land grabbing and selling case.
“Yesterday, we had served a notice to Khirodra
Mishra to vacate the Government plots, on which three buildings have been
constructed, within 24 hours. Today, we carried out an eviction drive.
Everything is going on smoothly with no opposition from any quarter,” said
municipality Executive Officer Jayant Kumar Parida.
The demolition drive was started in the presence of
a Magistrate and municipality officials. Three platoons of police force were
deployed to avoid any untoward incident.
Khirodra, the main accused in Government land
grabbing and selling case and an associate of arrested Timan, is still
absconding.
Meanwhile an official of the Municipality has
resented that no official from the district administration joined the meeting
that decided to carry out the demolition drive on Khirodra’s three plots.
