INTL FAMILY FARM DAY HELD IN BALANGIR

The International Family Farm Day was observed in Bandhapada
gram panchayat by the RCDC in collaboration with the Millet Network India and
Deccan Development Society on Friday.
Bandhapada sarpanch Gopal Singh Nina inaugurated the workshop,
where Ratnakar Sahoo, Amar Kumar Gouda, Pramod Bagarti and the Tikendra Jal
Gandhamardan Suraksha Action committee stressed on the need for preservation of
traditional seeds and urged the farmers to opt for organic cultivation.
Besides, five farmers were felicitated for organic farming and
the farmers took a pledge to exchange seeds among themselves in order to reduce
the dependence on company seeds and ensure farmers’ seed sovereignty.
