2 teachers, cook held in tribal student rape case in Balangir

Three persons including two teachers Saroj Kumar Rout, Sandeep Bhoi and a cook Sindhu of Ramchandrapur Kanyashram School at Ramchandrapur in Degaon block in the district were arrested by Tusura police, for allegedly raping a Class -IX tribal student Udiaan (not real name) of that school on July 22.
According to sources, on July 22 the two teachers called her through the female cook, around 10 pm and the teachers’ duo allegedly raped her behind the toilet of the school. When she narrated her plight it was ignored. Shocked over this development and incident she kept on crying and kept herself confined to her room for around seven days resulting in fever.
As she was a native of Gerdda village of Patnagarh block she was brought to Patnagarh hospital and admitted there on August 1 and his father was informed. However, she was discharged from there the next day.
As her father was poor, he took her home .After her mother, a migrant labour returned home, she narrated her plight to her and she in turn lodged an FIR with the police.
Meanwhile, the members of Balangir Zilla Adivasi Kalyan Sangh led by Niranjan Bisi and Baajkishore Singh Bhoi followed the matter and helped her in filing of FIR in Tusura police station on Sunday. “All the three accused in this case, have been arrested,” informed district Superintendent of Police Abinash Kumar.
