TWO BALANGIR BLAST VICTIMS DIE

Two
out of the three labourers who sustained severe burn injuries due to explosion
in a cracker making unit in Balangir on November 26 died at the IGH Hospital in
Rourkerla on Friday. They were identified as Narendra Suna and Nilamani Suna.
According
to police sources, Narendra, Nilamani and Riku Suna had been injured in an
explosion that took place while the trio was manufacturing crackers in the house
of Jugal Kishore Patra of Radharani Pada in Balangir town.
The
injured labourers were first taken to the District Headquarters Hospital,
Balangir and later, shifted to the VSS Medical College, Burla. However, as
their condition deteriorated, they were again shifted to the IGH, Rourkerla.
Meanwhile,
the Balangir Town police have registered a case under Section 286/337/338 of
IPC and 9(B) of Explosive Act and forwarded a person to court in this
connection.
It
may be remembered that a few months ago there was also such a cracker explosion
at Gandhinagar Pada. The locals have demanded shifting of the cracker making
units from residential area.
