FOR INCLUSION’ HELD IN BALANGIR

Muthukumar formally flagged off the ‘Run for Inclusion; Turning Dreams into
Reality-2014,’ organised by Aide at Action International South Asia (AEAI-SA)
and sponsored by Airtel and Odisha Cement Limited (OCL) here on November 23.
The objective of the run is to ensure
sustainable and dignified reintegration of the socially excluded community into
the mainstream. Its proceeds would go to promote education of girl children,
said Collector Muthukumar.
School and college students, citizens, members
of civil society and of Balangir Action Committee participated in the run which
marched through the town. Earlier at a brief inaugural ceremony SarojBarik of
Aide et Action informed that the run was being organised in the 23cities of
India and in entire south Asia, including Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bhutan and the
proceeds from the race would go for educating the girl children in the
subcontinent.
The run will not only allow people show their
solidarity and responsibility towards their country and humanity, but will also
provide them an opportunity to extend support towards eradication of
disparities in society, said Barik. Among others, Kamledu Pal, Sanjaya Mishra
and Lambodar Patel spoke.
