Clean Bolangir and green bolangir flagged up in Bolangir;AU Singhdeo giving water after planting a tree in Bolangir

Member of Parliament from Bolangir Sri Kalikesh narayan Singhdeo formally flagged up the "clean Bolangir and green Bolangir today .As part of cleaning both AU Singhdeo and Kalikesh Singhdeo along with Chairman of Bolangir municipality Santoshini Behera and others sweeped the Railway station road and planted trees on roadsides there.

Today the campaign of clean and green Bolangir was launched.After today cleaning Ward council ors would take up this programe in their respective wards.

we request Citizen to put garbage in proper place so that municipality would function in a better way.

To make Bolangir green we have flagged up the plantation drive .We would urge people to plant one tree per family .later on we would expand it to one tree for one person says Bolangir MP Kalikesh Singhdeo.

Both AUSinghdeo, Kalikesh Singhdeo Bolangir municipality Chairman Santoshini Behera and others planted trees on roadsides.

With a view to expand and strengthen the BJD party base in Patnagarh constituency, which is a stronghold of BJP, in Bolangir District, a BJD  party office was opened at Patnagarh today.

Senior vice president of BJD and RajyaSabha member AU Singhdeo, LokSabha MP Kalikesh Singhdeo were given a warm reception and were taken in a huge motorcycle rally, organised by Saroj Meher and others in Patnagarh town.

Among others, RajyaSabha member AUSinghdeo,Pakruti Devi, Kalikesh Singhdeo ,Saroj Meher and others spoke on this occasion and urged the workers to dissemination the pro-poor and welfare measures undertaken by Naveen Pattnaik and strengthen BJD base in rural areas further.

Speakers also criticised the neglect of Odish and anti-poor measures undertaken by NDA govt led by Narendra Modi at the Centre.

A campaign titled ‘Say no to polythene’ was organised at Bangabahl village, 40 km from here, on Tuesday.

Villagers were sensitized about how polythene creates pollution and diseases in both human beings and animals.

Schoolteachers, students, PRI representatives, scribes and members from civil society participated in the campaign organised by the Loisingha forest range office.

Among others, UN Mahakur, scribe Birajanand Padhi, DK Dhal, Ananda Pradhan, Shyama Sahoo and honorary wildlife warden Sudhir Mishra spoke on the disastrous consequences of polythene on soil and ecology.

They urged villagers to use less polythene in daily life and dispose them properly.Earlier, schoolchildren marched through the village giving slogans against use of polythene.

A rally comprising school students, teachers, SHG members, forest officials and others was flagged off by Block Education Officer Nepal Chandra Bag at Kurul village in Balangir district on Wednesday to create awareness against use of polythene.

Later, the Balangir Forest Range organised a meeting at Kurul High School presided over by School headmaster Subash Chandra Panda.

Sibadutta Mishra, Dilip Kumar Dhal, Sudhir Kumar Mishra, BC Roul, Anand Chanda Badpanda graced as guests and spoke on the rising threats to environment and society due to rampant use of polythene.

They also highlighted the serious consequences of use of polythene to soil and environment and stressed on less use of polythene in daily life and to use its proper disposal and waste management for a better future.

The members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led by Ajaya Das gheraoed the District Labour Office  (DLO) protesting against the neglect of demands of labourers.

Labourers have not received the labour card for years. Those who have received card have not received the benefits, alleged Das.They took out a rally demanding action against those who have collected around Rs 470 per a labourer for registration.So far nobody has lodged a written complaint with the DLO in this regard. The DLO has not authorised anybody to collect money for registration process. Labour registration requires only Rs 70 in the first year and Rs 50 the next year. DLO Suresh KumarBehera assured to take strong action against those who have collected the money illegally.

BJD members led by Biju Yuva Janta Dal (BYJD) Balangir president Lotus Sarangi and Lalit Nayak held a road blockade in front of the Balangir Collectorate on Monday against the continuous rise in prices of petrol, diesel and other petroleum products.

The agitators raised slogans against the Central Government and Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and held them responsible for rise in prices of fuels.

Similarly, Gajapati district BJD members observed the hartal led by district BJD president Pradeep Nayak and Nagar president Jamidar Patnaik by blocking roads holding a bike rally at Paralakhemundi.Nayak said poor people are suffering a lot and rise in prices of petrol and diesel has increased the transport cost and essential commodities. A bike rally was also organised.

The Ganjam district BJD also observed the hartal led by Brahmapur MLA Dr Ramesh Chandra Chaupatnaik and Gopalpur MLA Dr Pradeep Panigrahi. The members held picketing at the sub-division, block, municipality and the Central Government offices.

Among others, BMC Mayor K Madhavi, BDA Chairman Subash Moharana and Deputy Mayor Jyostna Nayak were present.

Nabarangpur district BJD members observed hartal and picketed at several places and blocked NH-26. About nine block Presidents staged demonstration at their respective block headquarters.BJD district president Prahalad Tripathy, general secretary Ashish Ranjan Patnai, VP Rabi Patnaik, local MLA and District Planning Committee Chairperson Manohar Randhari, BYJD president Siva Bissoyi and BCJD president Dillu Panda participated hartal at Nabarangpur.

Similarly, normal life was thrown out of gear in Baleswar due to the impact of hartal and incessant rains. Schools, colleges and educational institutions remained closed. Though banks and financial institutions were open, yet they couldn’t do any business.

Due to picketing train services were disrupted for hours with halting of a superfast and a passenger train at the Baleswar station.The buses and lorries on certain routes didn’t ply too. Besides Baleswar, hartal was observed at Jaleswar, Basta, Bhograi, Soro and Simulia.

The Joda town BJD members observed the hartal led by president Jitendra Jaiswal, secretary Dipak Satpathy and municipality Councillors were present.Members of the Subarnapur district BJD and its wings BYJD and BCJD also held demonstration at different places in the district. Among others, senior BJD leader Abhimanyu Kushal, district president Saroj Kampa, VP Ramesh Pujari, Prahallad Naik and Bibhudatta Rajhans were present.
