302 MIGRANT WORKERS RESCUED

Acting on a tipoff, a team of special police
squad from Balangir along with their Kantababji counterparts conducted raid in
a bushy forest and rescued 302 labourers.
These labourers were being taken to the brick
kilns of Hyderabad and Telangana. The rescued migrant labourers belong to
Balangir, Subarnapur and Nuapada districts. Three persons were arrested for
taking the workers there.
This was announced by Balangir SP K Siva
Subramani here. The Kantabanji police have registered a case under Sections
374/420/34IPC and Section 25 of Inter State Migrant Workman Act 1979.
“So far we have rescued 462 migrant labourers and
arrested 18 in the district,” said the SP further.
