After a brief lull, Maoists seem to be again
asserting their presence in Balangir district. On Friday morning, people found
a poster allegedly written by the Maobadi Lal Salam of Chhattisgarh in front of
the Rengali panchyat office in Khaprakhol block of the district. The poster
criticised the action of the CRPF and the Cobra Battalion. It also warned a few
nearby villagers of dire consequences terming them as “police informers”. Police
are verifying the poster, said Balangir SP Asis singh to this correspondent,
when contacted.
