Four people have been detected with dengue virus in
the district. While two persons are being treated outside the district, two
other have been referred to the Burla hospital from the District Headquarters
Hospital (DHH).
“We received a patient four days ago with symptom
of dengue. The patient was immediately referred to the Burla hospital,”
informed CDMO Dr RN Tripathy while speaking at a sensitisation workshop on
dengue, malaria and diarrhoea and other diseases on Friday at the DHH.
The areas which are vulnerable to dengue attack or
have record of people suffering from the disease in the district are Kantabanji
town and Takapali near Patangarh, etc.
Though a machine to test dengue fever is available
in the district, people are not getting benefit out of it.
People are getting tested in private hospitals with
a lot of expenditure.
