B’NGIR MAN TO GET KRISHI KARMAN AWARD FROM PM

In a significant feat, Nirakara Dharua, a farmer of Badtelenpali in the Lower Suktel project area of Balangir district, will receive the Krishi Karman award from Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Rajasthan on February 19. The farmer will be awarded for achieving highest paddy production in the State. In 2013 Kharif, Dharuaa had cultivated MTU-1001 High yielding variety and achieved a production of 115 quintal per hectare. While the normal paddy yield of the district was 25.53kg, Dharua, by using System Rice Intensification (SRI), line transplanting method and bio-fertiliser, got production of 45 quitnal per acre.
Balangir MP Kalikesh Narayan Singhdeo said “Dharua has brought proud moment for the district. Other farmers should emulate him and achieve such record productions”
