RALLY DEMANDS PROTECTION OF FARMERS’ HUMAN RIGHTS

of the Zindabad Sangathan and Shramik Adhikar Manch led by Lingaraj of the
Samajwadi Jan Parishad, Bargarh and Trilochan Punji took out a huge procession
of peasants and tribals here on Tuesday demanding fulfilment of their 22-point
charter of demands.
The rally was held on the
occasion of the Human Rights Day. At the call of the Zindabad Sangathan and
Shramik Adhikar Manch, several people’s organisations, which are fighting for
the cause of human rights of farmers and dalits hit the street highlighting
their various demands.
The demands included
proper implementation of the Forest Right Act, end to distress migration,
implementation of the Bonded Labour (Abolitions) Rehabilitation Act, adequate
compensation to farmers affected by the cyclone Phailin and declaration of the
Gandhmardan Mountains as a national property, said Lingaraj of the Samajwadi
Jan Parishad speaking to the media. Later, the activists submitted a memorandum
to the President of India through the district
