Around 20 dacoits hurled
bombs at the house of Gyanendra Sahu of Sirabahal under the Sadar police
station here on Tuesday and decamped with cash and gold jewelleries worth over
Rs 3 lakh.
The dacoits wearing masks came by two Bolero vehicles and
hurdled bombs to terrorise the villagers. They barged into the house of Sahu
and overpowered his old mother and daughter.
They again hurled a bomb while decamping. The police rushed to
the spot and seized a motorbike, which was left behind by the criminals. The
police suspected involvement of local criminals in the incident. The police are
trying to nab the culprits, said Balangir SDPO Narayan Nayak
