Members of the Odisha Non-Gazetted Forest Service Association’s
Balangir zone staged a dharna before the Divisional Forest Office for the
second day.
The protesters have been demanding
fulfilment of their three-point charter of demands which includes enhancement
of pay-scale of Foresters and Forest Guards as per the recommendation of the
Central Pay Commission, regularisation of Contractual Foresters and Forest
Guards and post upgradation of Foresters and Deputy Rangers.
“The dharna would continue for indefinite
period till our demands are met and the Government would be held responsible
for whatever loss of destruction of forest resources,” said the Odisha
Non-Gazetted Forest Service Association’s zonal secretary Madhusudan Gaduaa.
