Balgopal ends hunger strike
Balangir: Former MP Balgopal Mishra, who was on an indefinite fast here demanding official declaration of all drought-affected districts of the State as drought-hit since December 12, withdrew his agitation on Friday. He ended the fast as the State Government on Thursday declared 17 districts as drought-affected. On Thursday night, Mishra was admitted in hospital, where he came to the district Collectorate. He was offered fruit juice after he withdrew his hunger strike.

Anganwadi workers hold demo in Balangir
Balangir: Members of All Odisha Anganwadi Ladies Workers’ Association, Balangir unit, led by its president NirupamaSaraf and secretary Abhamayee Purohit, today staged a demonstration before the collectorate demanding fulfillment of their 14-point charter of demands, which include regularisation of their job as Government job and reinstatement of all the suspended Anganwadi employees etc. Among others, Kusha Panda and Arun Sahu addressed the gathering.
