Noise impacts birds adversely, there is no doubt about it. Noise beyond threshold can make them deaf. When that happens, affected bird will be not in a position to hear alarm call given by other birds to escape from raptors. Further, mating call from opposite sex, calls from hatchlings to the mother and announcements by other bird of añ abundant food resources will not be audible. Gaseous pollution affects lungs and even feathers and skin. Water pollution may poison water sources with toxic elements. Continuous exposure to pollution may trigger stress and may affect hormonal system leading to fall in fecundity and survival. Many urban birds will emigrate to remote villages and forests free from pollution.
