Bajrang Dal and Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) members led by Antaryami Karan and Pabitra Das on Monday staged a demonstration before the district Collectorate here keeping a dead cow, demanding a special ambulance for transportation of injured animals, especially cows, for treatment and a special burial ground to bury them.
On the day, a cow was lying injured; and when Bajrang Dal activists wanted its treatment, a veterinary official told them to bring the animal to him. But no vehicle could be arranged; and the cow died without treatment.
“We demand an ambulance for transportation of injured animals and a special burial ground to bury them when dead. Moreover, a law should be enacted so that the owners of cows moving stray on roads should be punished and provision for Kanji House be made,” said VHP district general secretary Pabitra Das.
